The Griha Aadhar Scheme provides monthly financial assistance of ₹1,500 to eligible women across the State. Nearly 1.80 lakh women are currently benefiting from the initiative, using the support for medicines, children’s education and day-to-day household expenses. The special camp was organised to address grievances, verify records and ensure timely disbursement of dues.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said, “I welcome all the women present here. During the Janta Darbaar, many beneficiaries informed me that their assistance had not been credited. I directed officials to contact every concerned woman and organise this special camp to resolve the issues. No eligible woman will be deprived of her rightful support.”

He further said, “From now on, the amount will be credited on the 10th of every month and all pending dues, including those of beneficiaries from Ponda, will be cleared. Goa was the first state in the country to officially launch the Griha Aadhar Scheme on October 2, 2012 under the leadership of late Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. The initiative was introduced to provide relief to Goan families from rising inflation and to strengthen household financial security. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, we have further strengthened transparent direct benefit transfers to ensure assistance reaches directly into bank accounts. Today, more than four lakh people in Goa receive financial assistance under various government schemes, covering nearly 40 percent of the population. I believe Goa may be the only state in the country to achieve such wide coverage.
