“You don’t need to be part of an NGO to work for society. You yourself are an organization. Through your effort, time, and thoughts, you can bring about change. Wherever rivers flowed, transformation followed. Sometimes, merely being present at a place can be enough to bring positive change.” These thoughts were shared by Devendra Kumar Gupta on March 18, 2025, during the annual cultural festival ‘Virasat’ organized by SPIC MACAY at Ram Lal Anand College. Devendra, the founder of Ladli Foundation and a special consultant to the United Nations Economic and Social Council, emphasized the need to be sensitive toward culture, as it fosters sensitivity toward society and the nation. He further stated, “Equality should be in our mindset; mere numerical equality is not enough. You first need to become positive in your own eyes. Inspiration alone is not sufficient; the impact of the work must also be measured.” Referring to his social campaigns, he highlighted the need to bridge the gap between the privileged and the underprivileged sections of society. During the event, SPIC MACAY advisor Prof. Rakesh Kumar honored the guest. Among the faculty, convener Dr. Deepti Bhardwaj, co-convener Dr. Shachi Meena, Prof. Rita Jain, and others were present.
